Vertical burning test for plastics with 50 W flame - UL 94
In the test, a vertically oriented test specimen is exposed to a small flame ignition source with a nominal thermal power of 50 W.
Together with the horizontal burning test, the results are used to assess plastic materials' flammability performance. One of the following classifications can be granted on the basis of this test: V2, V1, or V0.
The test will be performed according to UL 94 sixth edition, clause 8. An ISO 17025 accredited test report will be provided.
- Suitable sample matrices
- Solid and cellular plastic materials. All specimens are to be cut from sheet material or are to be cast or injection, compression, transfer, or protrusion molded to the necessary form. After any cutting operation, care is to be taken to remove all dust and any particles from the surface; cut edges are to have a smooth finish.
- Required sample quantity
- 20 samples 125 ±5 mm by 13.0 ±0.5 mm. The maximum thickness is 13 mm.
