The role
You will be joining our tech team of four developers and one UX designer. The team’s mission is to support our growing operations through development of both customer facing apps and internal tools for e.g. customer interfaces, subcontractor management and reporting.
We work closely with our users and instead of just implementing tickets from the backlog, a large part of a developer's job is identifying problems to solve and designing solutions together with the team.
While our culture values face-to-face time at our Ruskeasuo office in Helsinki as it enables short feedback loops and rapid problem solving as a team, we have also found good practices for working with colleagues who are mostly remote.
Our core tech stack is based on nodejs, TypeScript, Postgres, React, Next.js, OpenSearch and Gatsby.
What we expect
A few years of modern software engineering experience OR a strong portfolio of hobby projects
Passion for user centric software development in close collaboration with a team
You take end-to-end responsibility for the features you develop, from idea to production, and are able to critically evaluate their business value

Testing expert – Semiconductors and thin films
The Company
Measurlabs is a startup providing scientific laboratory analyses, materials characterization, and testing services for international clients in 40+ countries and counting. We work with a network of over 900 partner laboratories around the world and bring their best services to our clients' reach.
Practically every company developing, manufacturing, or importing tangible products or materials needs laboratory testing services for R&D, quality control, and certification. By buying these services from us, clients can access a vast catalog of services that are hard to find elsewhere, with our friendly testing experts helping them solve their measurement-related challenges.
We are currently a team of 28, and have doubled our revenue and team size for several years in a row. In five years, we will be one of the top testing service providers known for our excellent customer experience, with almost 100 million euros of annual revenue. We are backed by Lifeline Ventures and Tesi among others, and have just completed a financing round led by one of the leading European B2B marketplace VC funds Venture Friends.
We are now looking to hire a semiconductor and thin film testing expert for a permanent position at Helsinki, Finland.
The role
As a testing expert, you help our clients to bring their products to the market by arranging the needed testing services for them. You operate at the interface of our customers who need testing services, and our partner laboratories who perform them. You help our customers to identify the tests that they need, arrange the samples in the laboratories, report the results and provide consultation.
You will work mainly on projects related to semiconductors, thin films, and other inorganic materials. The projects will involve various analytical techniques, such as AFM, GI-XRD, XRR, ToF-ERDA, XPS, SIMS, TEM, SEM and electrical testing. You will need to understand the principles, applications, and limitations of these methods, but hands-on experience is optional since you will not perform the measurements yourself. The implementation of the measurements will be the responsibility of our partner laboratories.
Customer service and account management will be essential parts of the work, so a social personality and a desire to help are prerequisites for success. Interest in sales will help you, but you don’t have to be a sales professional to excel. Former experience working in semiconductor R&D or a commercial laboratory is a significant advantage.
We expect your full-time presence at our Helsinki office during the first month, after which you can start increasing the proportion of remote work gradually up to 80%, if you wish. We will give you lots of freedom as well as opportunities to influence your own work and develop your expertise.
Measurlabs is a start-up company, so we hope you are equipped with a forward-looking attitude and willingness to work in a fast-developing environment. Our working language is English.
We hope you’ve got
Knowledge about semiconductors, thin films and microelectronic devices
Understanding of AFM, GI-XRD, XRR, ToF-ERDA, XPS, SIMS, TEM, SEM, electrical tests, etc.
Your former colleagues would recommend you wholeheartedly (we take culture seriously 🤗💙)
Advanced English skills
Good communication skills
We offer you
A competitive compensation package of salary and stock options
A very versatile job with endless opportunities to develop your expertise
Responsibility and freedom to affect your work
An important role in an internationalizing startup organization
Team nights, lunches, and other casual hang-outs with super-lovely colleagues

Start: by agreement
Duration: permanent
