Food Contact Materials Testing Expert

Job description

As a Food Contact Materials Testing Expert, you help our clients to bring new products to the market and ensure the quality of existing ones by arranging the needed testing services for them. You operate at the interface of our customers who need testing services, and our partner laboratories who perform them. You help our customers to identify the tests that they need, arrange the samples in the laboratories, report the results and provide consultation.

To master the work, you need to be familiar with the regulatory landscape of food contact materials (FCMs) and the related laboratory testing. Your work will mostly focus on the testing of plastic FCMs, but paper and board-related projects will also be abundant in your work. Customer service and account management will be essential parts of the work, so a social personality and a desire to help are prerequisites for success. Interest in sales will help you, but you don’t have to be a sales professional to excel. Former experience working in a commercial laboratory or research institute is a big advantage. Fluent Finnish is a bonus, but not a must-have.

Your work will also include business development and projects not directly related to your main area of expertise. Therefore, we hope you are equipped with an open-minded attitude and a willingness to work in a fast-developing startup environment. We will give you lots of freedom and possibilities to influence your own work.

We expect your full-time presence at our Ruskeasuo office during the first months, after which you can start working remotely up to 60% of the time if you wish.

We hope you got

  • Expertise in FCM regulatory landscape in the EU

  • Customer service or sales experience

  • Work experience from a testing laboratory or a company manufacturing FCMs

  • BS, MS, PhD or similar degree in a relevant field

Steps of the recruitment process

  3. Follow-up interviews are on-site. Measurlabs’ recruitment team interviews you for 2 hours at our Ruskeasuo office.

  4. Completion of a preliminary task. You will be given a pre-assignment to complete, which will take up to 2 hours to complete. You can freely select the time and place for completing the pre-assignment. You will only need to have a computer equipped with internet access to complete the assignment.

  5. Second onsite interview at our office (if needed)

The role

As the UK Sales Lead, you'll develop our outbound sales strategy, focusing on acquiring new, large clients. Your responsibilities include conducting outreach, securing prospect buy-in, and transferring projects to our expert team. As our first UK Sales Manager, you'll have the opportunity to influence our outbound sales processes and experiment with different approaches to find the most effective practices.

Our diverse customer base consists of small and large companies in industries like biomaterials, plastics, paper & board, semiconductors, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and environmental services. You'll work closely with researchers, product developers, and quality controllers to address their requirements.

The team

Join our international team of 22 professionals, working together to build a leading laboratory testing provider. You'll collaborate with our Sales Manager, existing sales team, Growth Lead, CEO, COO, and a team of experts. Our working language is English.

Main tasks & responsibilities

  • Identify and prospect new leads

  • Contact leads and initiate discussions
