Horizontal burning test for plastics - UL 94
In this test, a horizontally oriented test specimen is exposed to a small flame ignition source with a nominal thermal power of 50 W.
Together with the vertical burning test, the results are used to classify plastic materials' flammability performance. The HB classification can be achieved with this test.
The test will be made according to UL 94 sixth edition, clause 7, and you will receive an ISO 17025 accredited test report as a result.
- Suitable sample matrices
- Solid and cellular plastic materials. All specimens shall be cut from sheet material or shall be cast or injection, compression transfer, or pultrusion molded to the necessary form. After any cutting operation, care is to be taken to remove all dust and any particles from the surface; cut edges are to have a smooth finish.
- Minimum sample amount
- 10 samples 125 ±5 mm by 13.0 ±0.5 mm. Maximum thickness is 13 mm.
