Particles size and shape analysis with image analyzer
Particle size distribution (PSD) and shape of the particles is determined using image analysis. The method is suitable for particles size of 2-3000 µm. Image analysis characterizes particles shape such as fibers, rods, and crystals that can not be characterized meaningfully with traditional devices such as laser diffraction or dynamic light scattering. Results include size distribution for length, width, aspect ratio, and equivalent circular area. Beckman Coulter RapidVue device is used in the analysis.
