  • Imaging at spatial resolution down to 0.3 nm

  • Maximum magnification of over 50 million times

  • Requires ultrathin samples (< 100 nm thick), typically prepared using focused-ion beam (FIB) preparation or microtomy

  • Electron-beam energies in the 80–300 keV range enable high beam penetration and contrast for internal structure imaging

  • Compatible with analytical modes such as energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX) and electron energy loss spectroscopy (EELS) for simultaneous imaging and elemental/chemical analysis
