Twist in yarns

This test determines the direction of the twist in yarns, the number of twists in turns per unit length, and the change in length on untwisting by a direct counting method.

The method cannot be used for yarns that stretch more than 0.5% when the tension increases from 0.5 cN to 1.0 cN or yarns with a linear density over 2000 tex. Products with open-end spinning and interlaced multifilament yarns cannot be tested with this method.
