Tropane alkaloids

Analysis of anticholinergic tropane alkaloids in food or supplement products. The testing package includes the following parameters:

• Atropine (racemic mixture of (-)-hyoscyamine and (+)-hyoscyamine) [CAS: 101-31-5/51-55-8]

• Scopolamine [CAS: 138-12-5]

• Sum of atropine and scopolamine

According to EU food contaminant regulations, products that potentially require testing include:

• Processed cereal-based foods containing maize, millet, sorghum, or buckwheat

• Unprocessed maize, millet, sorghum, or buckwheat

• Dried and liquid herbal infusions
