Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons determination (PAH 4)
This analysis package is used to determine the amount of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in food, feed, and supplement products. The package covers the following substances, known together as PAH4: • benzo(a)pyrene [CAS: 50-32-8) • benz(a)anthracene [CAS: 56-55-3] • benzo(b)fluoranthene [CAS: 205-99-2] • chrysene [CAS: 218-01-9] According to EU regulations, materials that potentially require testing include: • foods and dietary items intended for infants or young children • oils and fats • smoked meat and fish • smoked products prepared using traditional methods • smoke flavorings Compliance can be evaluated using several regulations, including the following: • Commission Regulation (EU) 835/2011 • Commission Regulation (EU) 1881/2006 • Commission Regulation (EU) 2020/1255 • Regulation (EC) No 2065/2003
