Allergens - sulfite and sulfur dioxide (SO2)
Determination of sulfite and sulfur dioxide content (expressed as sulfur dioxide) in food and feed with a titrimetric method based on the EN 1988-1 standard.
Sulfites and sulfur dioxide at concentrations above 10 mg/kg or 10 mg/l are listed in Annex II of Regulation (EU) No 1169/2011 as substances causing allergies or intolerances. This means that they must be indicated and emphasized in the list of ingredients.
