Landfill suitability test for conventional or hazard landfill (331/2013)
The Finnish Government Decree on Landfills (331/2013) requires the producer or holder of waste materials to provide the landfill operator with information on the waste and its suitability for final disposal. Suitability is assessed by performing a set of analyses outlined in degree 331/2013. This analysis package comprises the following analyses required to dispose of waste in conventional/non-hazardous and hazardous landfills: • Sample crushing to 4 mm • Dry matter (%) • Leaching test (EN 12457-3:2002) • Total organic carbon, TOC (%w/w) • pH • Acid neutralization capacity, ANC • Soluble metals (As, Ba, Cd, Cr, Cu, Hg, Mo, Ni, Pb, Sb, Se, Zn) (mg/kg) • Chloride, Cl (mg/kg) • Fluoride, F (mg/kg) • Sulphate, SO4 (mg/kg) • Dissolved organic carbon, DOC (mg/kg) • Total dissolved solids, TDS (mg/kg)
