Edge crush test (ECT) for cardboard

The edge crush test (ECT) measures the edgewise strength of corrugated board. The results give an indication of the board's resistance to crushing during processing and use.

In the ECT test, the test specimen is loaded perpendicularly to the open edge of the board sample.
