Dynamic vapor sorption (DVS) measurement
DVS measurement for determining how a powdered material absorbs and desorbs moisture over time under controlled humidity and temperature conditions.
In the test, a small amount of sample material is placed in a highly sensitive microbalance that continuously measures the weight changes that occur as the surrounding humidity is altered in controlled steps. Typically, the humidity is gradually increased to a set maximum and then decreased, allowing the sample to first adsorb and then desorb moisture.
Testing conditions can be selected between 20–60 °C and 5–95 % relative humidity.
