Specific migration testing – photoinitiators
Photoinitiators are substances that are added to printing inks to initiate the curing process upon exposure to UV light. These substances are also potential contaminants in recycled fibers.
The compliance of materials can be evaluated by the following regulations/recommendations:
German BfR XXXVI Annex for recycled fibers
French DGCCRF Fiche MCDA n°4 (V02 – 01-01-2019)
Swiss Ordinance for consumer goods No. 817.023.21, Annex 10
