Simulated distillation of petroleum fractions according to ASTM D7169
Simulated distillation (SimDist or Simdis) according to the ASTM D7169 standard helps determine the boiling point of petroleum fractions. Sample needs to be soluble to CS2.
The method will provide a boiling point distribution of n-C9 to n-C100 (or up to 720 °C) as mass percent yields.
- Suitable sample matrices
- Samples with boiling point between n-C9 - n-C100 and sufficiently low vapour pressure to allow sampling at room temperature
- Required sample quantity
- 50 ml
- Typical turnaround time
- 3 weeks after receiving the samples
- Available quality systems
- Accredited testing laboratory
- Standard
- Method expert
