Overall migration testing – simulant D2 (olive oil)

The overall migration limit (OML) is the sum of all the compounds that might migrate from the FCM into food. According to Regulation (EU) No 10/2011 food simulants D1 and D2 are assigned for foods that have a lipophilic character and are able to extract lipophilic substances. Food simulant D2 shall be used for foods which contain free fats at the surface.

Suitable sample matrices: All plastic food contact materials (FCM)
Minimum sample amount: 6 pieces of sample material (product or raw material)
Typical turnaround time: 5 weeks after receiving the samples
