Cannabinoids in food

Cannabinoids are a class of terpenes present in the hemp plant, some of which possess various biological properties. Due to this, the levels of certain cannabinoids in food products are controlled under EU regulation. According to Commission Regulation (EU) 2023/915, the following products may require testing:

• Hemp seeds and hemp seed products

• Hemp seed oil

The testing package includes the following substances:

• Cannabinol (CBN)

• Cannabidiol (CBD)

• Cannabigerol (CBG)

• Cannabichromene (CBC)

• Tetrahydrocannabinolic acid (THCA)

• Cannabidiolic acid (CBDA)

• Tetrahydrocannabivarin (THCV)

• Cannabigerolic acid (CBGA)

• Cannabiduric acid (CBDVA)

• Cannabidivarin (CBDV)

• Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC)
