Bursting strength of corrugated cardboard
Bursting strength measures the maximum hydraulic pressure that a material withstands without breaking. The bursting strength of corrugated cardboard is measured from the top and bottom sides of the sample, and the result is given as an average for both sides.
The burst strength is a commonly used test value used to evaluate the strength and durability of paper and cardboard. Other common tests include bending stiffness and crush testing.
