Allergens (ELISA) - soy
Quantitative determination of soya protein in food, feed, dietary supplements, and other applicable samples with the ELISA method.
Soybeans and products derived from there are listed in Annex II of Regulation (EU) No 1169/2011, which specifies substances and products known to cause allergies or intolerances. Subsequently, the presence of soy must be indicated and emphasized in the list of ingredients. If the product may contain soya unintentionally, voluntary indication is recommended.
Several different ELISA kits are available for the analysis. The best-suited kit is chosen based on the sample matrix to minimize the possibility of cross-reactions.
