This test assesses the specific migration of 1,4-butanediol [CAS 110-63-4; Ref No 13720/40580; FCM 254] from a plastic sample intended as a food contact material.
Listed as FCM 254 in European Regulation No 10/2011, 1,4-Butanediol is grouped with FCM 344 and FCM 672 (Group 30), which together have an SML of 5 mg/kg (expressed as 1,4-butanediol).
