Seaweed-based sugars in solution
Analysis of the sugar content of seaweed-based solution samples. First, free monomeric sugar components are determined from the solution using ion chromatography. Then, the sample is acid hydrolyzed and the monosaccharide components are analyzed again.
The determined components are fucose, glucose, arabinose, xylose, galactose, mannose, rhamnose, mannitol, glucuronic acid, guluronic acid, and galacturonic acid.
The results are given as mg/ml. The analysis is performed using two replicate samples.
