¹⁸O stable isotope analysis of oxygen determines the content of ¹⁸O in a given sample material. The results are reported in the VSMOW, ‰-unit.

Measurement is conducted with isotope ratio mass spectrometer (IRMS) techniques. The analysis is suitable for various sample materials.
